A video of a fan being held by security officials during the Black Stars game against Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium on October 10, 2024, has gone viral.

In a video shared by GNA, the fan, who happens to be male, was holding a banner and trying to invade the pitch but was quickly held by security officials and taken off the pitch.

While struggling with the officials, the fan opened parts of the banner that had the colors of the StopGalamseyNow protest, which was seized immediately.

Before the gamE, the National Sports Authority (NSA) issued a stern warning to Ghanaians who will be present at the Accra Sports Stadium for the Black Stars game against Sudan about their conduct ahead of the game.

According to them, they had a hint of a group planning to use the game to promote an agenda that contravenes the regulations of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The NSA warned that persons caught displaying political or pressure group paraphernalia or placards will be arrested by security officials and dealt with.

Despite the caution, the fan was determined to put the message across, which led to the arrest.

The Black Stars drew goalless against Sudan in the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers, leaving the team with two points from three matches.

The second match against Sudan will take place in Libya on October 14, 2024.
