“We are not going to sit idly-by and wait for the Electoral Commission(EC) to do all the wrong things only for us to be rejecting results,” General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Asiedu Nketiah has said.

According to him, they will take all legitimate means to ensure that EC operates within the law ahead of the 2020 general elections.

“If she thinks we will be idling about without putting them on their toes to do the right thing only for elections to come and be rejecting results, that will not happen. We will insist they do the right thing,” he told host Kweku Owusu Adjei on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM Thursday.

Meanwhile, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is demanding the resignation of Deputy Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Dr Bossman Asare.

The party contends his continuous stay at post makes it impossible for them to trust the Commission going into the 2020 elections.

The NDC says his removal from office is crucial for the maintenance of the country’s democratic stability, its General Secretary, Asiedu Nketia said.
