Prophet Dr. Kofi Oduro, founder and leader of the Alabaster International Ministry has cautioned Nana Appiah Mensah, Chief Executive Officer of gold dealership firm Menzgold to give his life to Christ, stressing that his time is up.

The prophet during one of his sermons mentioned that he had been instructed by God to sound that caution to the embattled Menzgold boss.

“God gave me a message to tell you,” he says. “It’s time to give your life to Christ. NAM1, wherever you are, hear the word of God. Your time is up. It’s time to give your life to Christ. The Lord gave me a scripture; I will read it to you. Jeremiah 2:19.”

Having read the part of the scripture which says “Your wickedness will punish you; your backsliding will rebuke you. Consider then and realize how evil and bitter it is for you when you forsake the Lord your God and have no awe of me”, Prophet Oduro stated that NAM1 will lose whatever he has achieved in life.

He said: “God is calling you back. You’ll lose everything you have acquired except your soul. You need to accept Christ. You’ve chosen a wrong path. You know what I’m talking about.”

The video resurfaces at a time NAM1 is reported to have won a court case in Dubai. The court has also reportedly ordered the Dubai-based company which called for his arrest and later prosecution, to pay him all outstanding debts.

NAM 1 was arrested in Dubai December 2018 following a report to security authorities by a Dubai based company that he could be connected to an alleged botched gold business with a Ghanaian company, one of whose officials was known to him.

He is said to have landed in Dubai hoping to retrieve some $39 million owed Menzgold by the Dubai-based company, Horizon Royal Diamonds DMCC, for the supply of gold.

Before leaving the shores of Ghana, there was a pandemonium as some aggrieved customers of Menzgold demanded the release of their locked up capitals. The protest continued unabated as several customers hit the streets of Accra in their quest to retrieve their investments.

What angered them the most were reports that he had breached his bail conditions and fled the country.

The Economic and Organised Crime Organisation (EOCO), froze the properties of Menzgold and its associated companies including Menzgold’s Office Complex, Zylofon Art Complex, Brew Marketing Consult, Star Madrid Football Club, Zylofon Music and media company, Brew Energy Company Limited, G- Tech automobile service after a court order.

Menzgold was asked to suspend its gold trading operations with the public by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

According to the SEC, the company had been dealing in the purchase and deposit of gold collectables from the public and issuing contracts with guaranteed returns with clients, without a valid license from the Commission.

This, the SEC said was in contravention of “section 109 of Act 929 with consequences under section 2016 (I) of the same Act.”

The company was however cleared to continue its “other businesses of assaying, purchasing gold from small-scale miners and export of gold.”

Despite initial protests, Menzgold complied with the directive.

It, however, failed to fully pay its numerous aggrieved customers the value on their gold deposits as well as their entire investments.
