  Not surprising. As Togbe said, the cedi will depreciate when yields in the cedi money market are high based on excessively high BOG policy rate. The 6.2% cedi depreciation is equivalent to 6.6% dollar appreciation relative to the cedi. The gain by the dollar roughly tracks yields in the cedi money market. Parity at play!
