He didn’t call for help immediately to push the vehicle off the tracks because prior information had come from Accra Headquarters about a test run, with exact date and time. Another Tribesman by name Peter Amewu tries to explain the circumstances, using a video rendition and a file photo. All hell breaks loose with NDC making all kinds ridiculous statements about the train being cheap, the train having been fitted with Aboboyaa Engine, why tracks were not inspected, why the Driver wasn’t chosen from Volta and so on and so forth. Ebei, Ewes please try to be patriotic to Mother Ghana because you were sacked from Nigeria, sacked from Benin, sacked from Togo. Between the 18th and 20th the driver who supposedly packed the truck was arrested tried and sentenced to 6 months imprisonment. Since when did our security and judicial system have become so efficient? The whole story is cooked up. The truth has just started emerging. The remainder of the truth will come out soon. I can't wrap my brain some of the utterances of these so called intelligent people in Ghana. Is it really out of place to have a wrecked car on train tracks? NO!!. It happens all the time. How come we don't take the opportunity to learn from some of these misfortunes rather than castigating and trying to score some cheap points with this unfortunate incident. The fact of the matter is that, The train tracks had not been commissioned and so it is normal for people to assume that trains will not be on it. It was therefore the responsibility of the authorities in charge of the testing to ensure safety. No sane person will put the blame on the driver of the Kia truck. You people must use your head kakra. aabbaaa!!!!

I hold no brief for the truck driver. But the Railway people, who didn't do due diligence to make sure that the track was without obstacles prior to the test run, cannot escape blame. This is a new track that has been lying there for many years without a single train passing on it. Under the circumstances I think the sentence given the truck driver is way too harsh and it is disingenuous to blame politics for the unfortunate accident.
