  Accra is where government policies on galamsey are made. Accra is where the head of the nation is situated along with parliament. Yes, there is no galamsey in Accra, but the affected waters in the galamsey areas have tributaries that link up all the way into the sea. So, the POISON in the waters affects ALL Ghanaians, and not just the galamsey areas. Even the food you eat in Accra may be sourced from poisoned soils of the hinterlands from galamsey. So, it affects all of us regardless of where you live in Ghana.

I think you have no clue about the short-term and long-term effects of heavy metal POISONING in river bodies and food sources. Just because it did not start under Akuffo Addo does not mean it should continue.

  Akuffo Addo’s government does not need demonstrations to stop galamsey if they care about the citizens knowing fully well the effects of galamsey on our river bodies , land , environment and our health.
  Ghanaians must stop protesting and take actions into their own hands . Every suburb must forms their vigilante groups to counteract the galamseyers. There should be a national corps of volunteers who can form a pool of anti galamseyers activist who can be ready to join their colleagues when ever the need arises to confront the galamseyers. Ghana cannot stop galamsey with slogans or demonstrations. They have to put their boots on the ground.
