The referees Association of Ghana (RAG) have banned 61 referees for involving themselves in unethical behaviors in Anas’ expose.

75 referees from the Ghana Premier League, National Women’s League, Division one, and Division two were caught on camera taking bribes and gifts, an act against the code of ethics of RAG.

An investigation on these referees were done where 14 of them were cleared of any wrongdoing with 61 receiving a 10-year ban. Eight of them were however handed a lifetime bans.

The decision was taking by RAG after a thorough investigations on the referees.

“’After Anas expose #12 RAG set up a five member committee to investigate the conduct of 75 referees whose names and pictures appeared in the expose,” a statement by RAG reads.

“The committee started work on 20/8/18 and submitted their written report to RAG on 8/9/18. RAG upon the receipt of the report had RAG Executive meeting on 15/9/18 under 34 (b) (v) and approved the following recommendations

”14 referees were exonerated as there was no evidence whatsoever that they accepted any money as alleged.”

Anas’ video documentary exposed several top football officials including former Ghana Football Association President Kwesi Nyantakyi who is currently serving a 45-day ban by FIFA.
