The Technical Director position at the Ghana Football Association has become one of the sought-after jobs in the country following the departure of Francis Oti Akenteng.
The GFA is on a hunt for a new Technical Director after Oti Akenteng vacated the position last month.
And the General Secretary of the FA, Prosper Harrison Addo has told GhanaWeb that it has been overburdened by the number of people who have expressed interest in the job.
According to him, there is huge interest in the position locally and from the international stage.
He tells GhanaWeb that weeks after the deadline, applications keep pouring in from local and foreign technical men.
He was however quick to add that those whose letters reached the FA after the deadline will not be considered.
“But there is huge interest both locally and internationally. The deadline is passed but each day people still send in their application, of course, those outside the deadline won't be considered”.
Publicly, some Ghanaian coaches have made known their intentions of filling the void left by the highly revered Oti Akenteng.
Veteran coaches Bashir Hayford, Kuuku Dadzie, Malik Jabir among others have declared their interest in the post.
Former Hearts coach and footballer Mohammed Polo is also one of many ex-footballers eyeing the vacant post.
There were reports of Marcel Desailly being the closest to the job but both the parties have denied those reports.
Prosper Addo told ghanaweb.com the process is ongoing and once a decision is made, it will be communicated to the public.
“The process to find the next Technical Director is ongoing. Once completed, the person will be announced.”
