Championship club Hull City have lodged a £2.5 million bid for West Bromwich Albion striker Brandon Thomas-Asante, according to Sky Sports.

Both Hull City and West Brom are looking to bolster their squads ahead of the new season after falling short of promotion last year.

Hull City, who finished 7th in the Championship, narrowly missed out on the play-offs, leading to the departure of manager Liam Rosenior, who has since joined RC Strasbourg. West Brom, on the other hand, reached the play-offs but were eliminated early by Southampton, who eventually won the competition.

Thomas-Asante, a key player for West Brom, has attracted interest from several clubs. While the details of West Brom's response to Hull City's bid are not yet clear, the 25-year-old striker is in high demand.

The Blak Stars forward who joined West Brom from Salford City in August 2022 on a three-year deal, has one year remaining on his contract. He has scored 18 goals and provided two assists in 72 league appearances for the Baggies.

Hull City's move for Thomas-Asante reflects their ambition to strengthen their squad as they aim for promotion in the upcoming season.
