Former Liverpool legend John Barnes believes Mohammed Kudus has the qualities to replace Mohamed Salah at the club in the future.

Salah, who joined Liverpool from AS Roma in 2017, is currently in the final year of his contract at Liverpool. The 32-year-old faces an uncertain future after attracting interest from Saudi Pro League clubs.

The enterprising winger has been on the wishlists of the Saudi Arabian clubs for a while and could depart Anfield.

However, Barnes is tipping the Black Stars midfielder as a possible replacement for the Egyptian considering his qualities and playing style.

According to him, the Ghanaian international is dynamic, direct, and plays similarly to Salah.

“Kudus was fantastic. He was sensational for West Ham last season. Even Mohamed Salah says he won’t be here in three years’ time, so that could be a role that Kudus takes on.

“He’s young, he’s dynamic, he’s direct, and he plays in a similar fashion to Mo,” he told BettingExpert.

The Ghana international made an instant impact at West Ham United last season after switching from Ajax.

Kudus racked up eight goals in the Premier League and delivered five assists. In the Europa League, he bagged goals for the Hammers.

He is currently on preseason with West Ham United in America. He was on target when the Hammers lost 3-1 to Wolves on Sunday.
