Mohammed Fuseini played a key role in Union St. Gilloise's commanding 3-0 victory over Kortrijk in a round nine Belgian First Division clash at Stade Joseph Mariën.

The Ghanaian forward opened the scoring early in the 18th minute, converting a sharp pass from Mounaim El Idrissy to give Union the lead.

Union St. Gilloise continued to dominate possession, and their pressure paid off again early in the second half. Kortrijk’s Joao Silva was unfortunate to put the ball into his own net in the 51st minute, doubling the home side's advantage. Despite some spirited efforts from Kortrijk, Union’s defense held firm.

Franjo Ivanovic sealed the win in the 76th minute with a clinical finish, ensuring the three points for the hosts. Fuseini, who impressed throughout, was substituted in the 85th minute to a warm reception from the crowd.

Union St. Gilloise’s ninth win in ten head-to-head encounters with Kortrijk boosted their position in the league. They now shift focus to their Europa League clash against Bodø/Glimt on October 3rd.
