Normalization Committee will be transparent - Lucy Quist

The Vice President of the Normalization Committee of Ghana football, Lucy Quist has said that the committee will ensure transparency, accountability and constant engagement with industry players in the reformation of Ghana football.

Lucy Quist who admitted that the task handed to the committee is challenging averred that the reformation and restructuring of Ghana football will be fruitless if the people mandated to lead the charge do not open up to the media and other stakeholders.

“Today is a week since the press conference and we have been working practically every day since then. What success will look like in 6 months is what we are strategizing together to define at the moment. One of things we can definitely assure you of is transparency, communication and above all engagement. So we will define what success is in 6 months looks like and what should happen after that. We will come back to you and share that with you”, she told media men on the sidelines of the unveiling of the Accra LOC for 2018 AWCON.

The former Airtel Chief Executive Officer was named together with Dr. Kofi Amoah, Kofi Duah Adonteng and Naa Odofoley Nortey as the four people who will run football in the country until March 2019.

The Normalization Committee was formed after deliberations between Ghana government, CAF and world football’s governing body, FIFA.

According to FIFA, the work of the committee includes "running the GFA’s daily affairs and cooperating with the special task force, reviewing the GFA statutes to ensure compliance with the requirements of Fifa and Caf, particularly art. 15 of the FIFA Statutes" and "organising and conducting elections of a GFA executive committee on the basis of the revised GFA statutes once the GFA statutes meet the requirements of Fifa and Caf".
