The Former Vice President of the Ghana Football Association George Afriyie has lashed out at some section of the football fraternity believed to be supporters of the President Kwasi Nyantakyi.

Afriyie who served for three years was removed from office following a meeting of the Executive Committee last Tuesday.

Although a reason was not revealed, it’s believed the decision is due to George’s interest in the GFA presidency.

Speaking for the first time since his sacking, George Afriyie revealed that the people who are constantly lambasting him on radio and calling for Nyantekyi to seek re-election are the ones who were recruited to speak for the FA by offering them beer, cigarettes and promise of top positions.

" He (Kwesi Nyantakyi) should not allow some people to push him. When I took the pain to talk to club owners, the kind of things I heard, I was shocked," he told Asempa FM

"The people who come to him now; and I'm saying this. When I hear the word loyalty, loyalty, then I ask myself who is a loyal person? The man who is ready to do anything for you? or the man who comes to radio and go and take the money and take 'jot' (cigarettes) and beer, is he the loyal one? he quizzed

"I will not come on the radio to support Kwesi Nyantakyi and go to his office to make money. I am not one of those.

"I have been supporting the president with my money, my life an everything. I will be the last person.

"Some of us used beer and cigarettes to recruit some of these people to do the bidding of Mr. Nyantakyi. Others we used money and some positions.
