Amaglo wins for Volta

Ho, Sept. 13, GNA - Master Paul Amaglo of the Volta Region on Saturday, put up a splendid performance to win the 5,000 metre race with a time of 15 minutes 24 seconds in the 23rd inter-regional schools and colleges sports festival currently underway in Ho.

He was closely followed by Yaw Frimpong of Brong Ahafo with a time of 15 minutes 25 second while Rowland Tetteh of Volta clocked 15 minutes 28 second to place third

In the 400 metre race, Master Bright Dzokoto representing the Volta Region came first by choking 50 minutes and 7 seconds while Emmanuel Aryee of Greater Accra and Christian Adotei of Central Region placed second and third with a time of 51 minutes and3 seconds and 51 minutes and 6 seconds respectively.

In the girls division, 400 metre - race Ashanti Region represented by Salimatu Alhassan and Elizabeth Amalofo came first and second with time of 59minutes and 9 seconds and one minute 00.6 seconds respectively while Cynthia Donkor of Central placed third and clocked one min o1.seconds.

Naomi Tetteh of Greater Accra won the long jump event with 5.14 metres leap, while Florence Bina of Central came seconds with 5.13 metres and Diana Achana of Upper East placed third with 5.04. Adiza Mohammed of Ashanti recorded 29.08 metres to win the discuss throw and followed by Rhoda Ocansey and Dority Amoah both from Central clocking 27.90 and 27.13 respectively.
