July 28 -- Aziz Zakari won the men's 100 metres "A" race, at the DN Galan IAAF Super Grand Prix meet in Stockholm, Sweden today. The Ghanaian Olympic hopeful beat four Americans and won in 10.00, the seventh fastest time of the year, but well off Olympic champion Maurice Greene's meet record of 9.87 from 1999.
Americans Leonard Scott (10.13), Mardy Scales (10.17), JJ Johnson (10.23) and Coby Miller (10.32) finished second, third, fourth and fifth, respectively. Great Britain's Darren Campbell copped sixth spot, in 10.33 seconds.
Zakari hasn't made it to 30 yet, but the 27 year-old will be looking for a better showing at his third Olympics than the previous two.
Leonard Myles-Mills and Eric Nkansah failed to impress in the 100m B Final.
In the men's 200m, Nsiah clocked 21.40 to beat Jacey Harper and Sweden's Lenny Martinez to second and third place respectively.
Ghana finished sixth, in 40.22 in the 100x4 relay. The Pro Sports combination of Dwight Phillips, Marcus Brunson, Christopher Williams and Brian Lewis triumphed in 38.62 seconds. Italy (39.04), Australia (39.10) and United States (39.43) were second, third and fourth, respectively.
