The Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Plan, Mr, John Kumah has mentioned that the Akufo- Addo government is committed to ensuring that Ghanaians engage in more entrepreneurship initiatives.
According to Mr. John Kumah, government is fulfilling its manifesto promise of promoting the growth of entrepreneurship opportunities for young Ghanaians through various programmes deployed by the Ministry of Business Development.
Speaking at the “Future of Work and Employment in Africa” at the University of Professional Studies, Madina, the NEIP CEO mentioned that entrepreneurship is dear to the heart of the President and so government has since assuming office placed a lot of premium on building and sustaining an entrepreneurship culture through the National Entrepreneurship and Innovations Plan, Schools Entrepreneurship Initiative and several other programmmes under the auspices of the Ministry of Business.
“Just recently, the Schools Entrepreneurship Initiative (SEI) was launched in Tamale, under SEI, we intend to form entrepreneurship clubs across the country. These clubs will hold regular meetings to teach senior high students business concepts and principles, how to market, brand products, pitch, write business plans among several others,” he said.
He indicated that government will not relent on its efforts to make entrepreneurship the new face of work in Ghana and will continue to put in a lot of efforts to equip the future generation with the toolkit to be entrepreneurs.
