The former President of Ghana and flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has indicated that the current economic crisis is a clear verdict on the current government.

He asserts that the country has been plunged into an economic abyss after almost eight years under the leadership of the Akufo-Addo and Bawumia administration.

The former President believes that the current government should not be given any further opportunities to govern.

"After almost eight years under the deplorable leadership of the Akufo-Addo and Bawumia administration, we have witnessed our country sink into a serious economic abyss. The current economic mess sums up the verdict on this NPP administration," he stated.

Addressing the media, the former President mentioned that the current economic turmoil has led to significant employment issues, particularly among the youth, and highlighted the need for these issues to be addressed.

"The unprecedented levels of poverty, unemployment, deterioration in our people's livelihoods, and social inequity expose the devious strategy of hiding incompetence behind sloganeering," he added.
