Sege, a fishing hub in the Greater Accra region is expected to witness the establishment of a mini habour if the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is elected president in the upcoming December polls.
Dr. Bawumia also promised to provide sea defence walls to protect both lives and properties amidst the high tidal storms in the coastal area.
The construction of the mini habour, he said, will boost economic growth in Sege and its environs.
Speaking to chiefs, traditional leaders, and the people of Sege during his tour of the Greater Accra Region, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia said, “We need a mini-harbour. So, we are going to work on bringing a mini harbour to Sege here for you and that is a very important thing. And then, of course, very important, we need to do the sea defence for this area."
“So, I have a lot to do for you. If I come back in four years, I will have to give an account of what I have done with the sea defence,” he added.
Dr. Bawumia stated that these infrastructural developments will help modernised the fishing community, as well as, enhance trading activities.
