The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) has announced the appointment of Kwame Ntow Amoah as its new Acting Chief Executive Officer.

He succeeds Edward Abambire Bawa, who has been reassigned to the Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL) as Managing Director and Group CEO.

In a press statement on February 17, 2025, GNPC stated that Kwame Amoah’s landmark contributions was his involvement in attracting investments that propelled Ghana to become a leading oil-producing country.

According to the organisation, Kwame Amoah was instrumental in securing approximately US$7 billion in investment for the Sankofa Oil and Gas Development Project, which was supported by US$700 million in partial risk guarantees from the World Bank.

GNPC further expressed its congratulations to Kwame Amoah on his appointment, stating that his expertise, experience, and leadership will continue to propel the Corporation’s strategic vision forward, ensuring the growth and success of GNPC and Ghana’s energy sector.
