Bawumia and the NPP must be punished for their crimes against Ghanaians – NDC MP

Bawumia Bawumia

Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Apaak, says it is the height of wickedness for anyone to say that 15 GH¢to 1 USD is a better record than 4.80 GH¢ to 1 USD.

Such an assertion, he noted, is pure wickedness, and those who caused the mess ought to be punished come December 7, 2024.

The MP stated that the economic conditions of Ghanaians are so terrible today that a tuber of yam is selling at GH¢ 40. This record, he opined, cannot be said to be better than when it was GH¢ 5 some years ago.

He indicated that a government that is selling state assets to its cronies and giving senior citizens haircuts should not be elected into office. He has therefore reiterated the need for voters to vote out the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He said the NPP cannot be retained in office following the mess they have caused the country and its citizens.

He stressed in a post on X, formerly Twitter, that the ruling NPP must be punished for the crimes they have committed against the people and the country. To him, the government takes Ghanaians for granted, which explains their blatantly callous view of our current problems.

He said that although Ghanaians are forgiving, they are not stupid and will not allow themselves to be taken for granted.

“How can anyone claim that the conditions of Ghanaians are better today compared to 2016? By what method does anyone conclude that 4.80 GH¢ to 1 USD is worse than GH¢1 to 1 USD?

"A tuber of yam sells at GH¢40 today, and you say we are better off compared to when it was GH¢5? You are busy selling state and public assets to yourselves, and you say we should be quiet? You give senior citizens crude haircuts, and you want to stay in power? Indeed, DMB and the NPP must be punished for their crimes against Ghanaians.”
