A Chief at Osenase, a community near Akwatia in the Denkyembuor District of the Eastern Region has allegedly been assassinated by unknown assassin(s).

The deceased Nana Ofori Dadiako, 68, was the Dwantoahene of Osenase.

The incident happened Monday August 5,2019 in his house in the community shortly after the wife had left to the market around 6:30am.

According to Police report, at about 6:40am on the fateful day, one Freda Asieduaa reported to the police that she heard the deceased, who was her father-in-law screaming for help in his room hence rushed into his room, only to find him stabbed in the abdomen with blood oozing.

He was rushed to the St. Dominic’s hospital for treatment but died on arrival.

Police proceeded to the scene and found a knife with blood stains on it in the room and another knife outside the room in-between two bags of sachet water with blood stains also on it.

None of his personal belongings including his mobile phone was taken away though the screen of the mobile phone was smashed.

The Widow, Millicent Arkwah, told the local media that “he [deceased husband]was brushing his teeth when I took the lead to the market center around 6:15am so while at the market I was called to rush home for an emergency, it was there that I was told Nana has been stabbed indeed I saw pool of blood in the room at that time he had been rushed to the Hospital. So we went to the police station to make a report. It was at the Police station thatIi was told he didn’t survive. I am hurt !.”

She appealed to the Police to do their possible best to arrest the assailant(s).

The Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, DSP Ebenezer Tetteh confirmed the incident but said efforts are ongoing to arrest the perpetrator(s ) while appealing to the residents to provide police with vital information that could help facilitate the arrest of the suspect(s).
