President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has urged the people of Ghana to vote massively for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and prove to the world that Ghana is a tolerant country.
He firmly believes that Ghana is far past the stage where one religion feels superior to the other.
The President's appeal comes on the back of claims that a Pastor urged his colleagues to whip his congregation to vote for a Christian to lead Ghana in the 2024 elections.
To Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, such people who sow discord in the country are evil and should not be adhered to.
The President, who has insisted that he will hand over the administration of the country to his Vice President, indicated that Pastors who are preaching to their congregation to tow some line clearly do not have anything positive to say about their favourite candidate, hence the decision to sow discord along religious lines.
"If you don't have anything proper to say about your candidate, don't raise tribal or religious considerations. Ghana is far from that, and that is why we are a beacon of peace; of stability, of democratic engagement in the whole of Africa.
"We don't want someone who will come and sow discord among us, so go out and vote on Saturday and let the world know that Ghanaians are religious tolerant,' he said
