The Member of Parliament-elect for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, has called on the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to expel Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo from the party.

According to him, Akufo-Addo has destroyed the party and its tradition with poor leadership over the past eight years.

In A Plus’s view, anyone who voted against Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the 2024 elections did so because of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

“The NPP must come together and expel Nana Addo from the party because he has destroyed it. Everyone who voted against Dr. Bawumia did so because of Akufo-Addo,” he said during an appearance on United Showbiz.

A Plus expressed surprise that the party even attempted to campaign for the 2024 elections, given the prevailing circumstances.

He pointed to the controversial haircut on investments, the betting tax, and other unpopular decisions made by the government as indicators of the party’s inevitable loss. He argued that these policies alienated the youth and impoverished the middle class.

A Plus urged the NPP to unite during these challenging times, remove Akufo-Addo from the party, and rebuild itself into a strong opposition capable of improving Ghana’s democracy.
