Sammy Flex, the manager of dancehall artiste Shatta Wale, has disclosed that the musician, along with his management team and friends, purchased a house for Shatta's mother in September 2024.
This revelation comes after a long period of controversy surrounding Shatta Wale's'sour' relationship with his mother, Elsie Avemegah.
In 2022, Shatta Wale's mother publicly expressed distress after being evicted from her East Legon apartment, claiming that she hadn't seen her son in over five years at that time.
Recently, in July 2024, news emerged that Shatta Wale's mother's plight had worsened following what was described as 'ten years of neglect' by the dancehall musician, and this situation further sparked widespread criticism.
Shatta Wale addressed the backlash during an aftermath interview, where he listed his efforts to support his mother, including buying her four cars and renting a house for her.
He said his deeds for his mother had often been misunderstood or unappreciated.
But in a recent disclosure about buying a house for Shatta’s mother, his manager has explained the reason behind the move.
Speaking in a video on his YouTube channel on December 3, 2024, Sammy Flex said the management decided to take action after the issue became a trending topic.
"In September this year, we saw that the talks were dying down, and it felt like the right time to correct what had happened. We instructed the team to start looking for a beautiful house for Shatta Wale’s mother. And they found one," he stated.
He also shared footage of the new house and stated the team’s satisfaction with that particular one.
However, despite the positive move, Sammy Flex lamented that some individuals are still spreading false information about Shatta Wale online.
"I still see people going live, talking nonsense about celebrities. They just want to say anything to stay relevant," he added.
He further explained that this spread of misinformation is a major source of frustration for Shatta Wale, who feels that the industry has failed to hold people accountable for their actions.
"When I see these things, I wonder: ‘Do they even know what damage they are causing?’ It’s been one of Shatta’s biggest issues; as an industry, we see all this negativity, and yet no one is held responsible. But when Shatta speaks out, suddenly it becomes a problem," he concluded.
