Come to our constituencies to campaign – Angry delegates tell Blay

The Acting Chairman of the New Patriotic Party and an aspiring National chairman, Hon. Freddy Blay, angered the delegates of Central Region when he invited over 10 constituencies to gather in Cape Coast for a meeting, ostensibly to campaign for the national chairmanship position.

Indeed, some delegates had to travel from far places to meet him in Cape Coast for the meeting.

This however did not go down well with some delegates as they openly expressed their anger with the move. “You have made me to travel all the way from Twifo Praso to this place only to be spoken to by your small small boys,” said an angry delegate.

According to him,” the arrogant young men following Blay did all the talking, insulting and attacking their opponent as if they had no message,” he retorted.

Another delegate also said that even John Boadu has taken upon himself to visit them in their constituencies to seek for their votes and that in itself makes them happy. That’s a sign of seriousness and a show of readiness to lead the party.

Another delegate also said that since Blay became First Vice and later, the Acting Chairman, he has never stepped his foot in his constituency, and so was very expectant that he would at least do that this time around , but clearly he failed the test.

“I am disappointed in him and I feel he should have stepped down. He has no energy in him. The man looks tired,” he said. Other delegates also wondered if the postponement of the election from June 16 to July 7 was to enable him catch up with his campaign as he seems clueless.

Hon Freddy Blay is contesting the national chairmanship position together with Chairman Stephen Ntim in July as the party goes for its conference.
