President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has urged eligible 18-year-olds in Ghana to participate in the ongoing limited voter registration exercise, being conducted by the Electoral Commission (EC).
He emphasized that registration is crucial for those who wish to vote in the upcoming December elections.
Addressing a rally in Dobro, President Akufo-Addo expressed hope of seeing Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia succeed him as president in the December general elections.
He encouraged eligible citizens to exercise their right to vote, stating, "Your right to vote is your power."
The President also emphasized the importance of continuity in leadership, saying, "I have faith in Dr. Bawumia, who has worked alongside me for the past seven and a half years. I trust that he will continue the progress we have made."
The Electoral Commission's limited registration exercise, which began on May 7, aims to enfranchise eligible Ghanaians who have turned 18. The exercise will conclude on May 20.
