Deputy Works and Housing Minister, Dr. Prince Hamid Armah, asserts that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is attempting to tarnish the reputation of Energy Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh.
According to the Member of Parliament for Kwesimintsim, the NDC is aware of Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s experience and competence, and they are therefore trying to undermine him.
“I think the NDC is afraid of the personality of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh complementing Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to complete our ticket. They are just afraid. They know that the Minister for Energy comes with a strong character, a deep understanding of our political landscape, and a demonstrable record in public service. In all his endeavors in the public service space, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has excelled,” Dr. Armah said in an interview with GHOne News’ Musah Lansah.
He added: “I worked under him at the Ministry of Education, and I can tell you that if you want someone who is results-oriented, then Dr. Opoku Prempeh is the one.
“All those criticisms from the NDC are normal. It is understandable that people make such comments. I know Dr. Opoku Prempeh very well. People often confuse confidence with arrogance due to our cultural context, where timidity is seen as respect and humility, while confidence is often mistaken for arrogance. The NDC is trying to label him as arrogant, but it will not succeed.”
