Barring any late challenges, the Tamale High Court 1 will rule on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Walewale Constituency Parliamentary Primary dispute today, September 2, 2024.

This information was disclosed by trial judge Justice Richard Kogyapwah on August 28, 2024, when he instructed the legal representatives of the parties involved to submit their written addresses.

Both lawyers, Samson Lardy Anyenini, representing 1st defendant Dr. Tiah Abdul-Kabiru Mahama, and Sylvester Isang, representing Madam Lariba Zuweira Abudu, have presented their witnesses and undergone cross-examination.

The lawyers were required to submit their written addresses by Friday, August 30, 2024, in preparation for the judgment on Monday, September 2, 2024.

This legal proceeding stems from the decision of the current Member of Parliament (MP), Hajia Lariba Zuweratu, to contest the results of the NPP Walewale parliamentary primary.

The Tamale High Court has ordered that both the plaintiff and the 1st defendant refrain from presenting themselves as parliamentary candidates for the Walewale constituency in the 2024 general election until a final decision is reached in the case.
