And what legacies have Akans (Ashsntis in particular) left for Ghana apart from opposing independence, destroying the forward ma4ch of Ghana, galamsey, bad governance and naked looting of state coffers?

The guy made a genuine cry until he said "if we knew we would have made Libya win". I assume he is Ga and sabotage is not in a Ga man's nature, perhaps he is a mixed blood - not full bloodied Ga.

Some people have been abusing the English language for a long time.
Anyway some of these players are insincere.
First of all the economic hardships at the time didn't make room for a President to be making rewards at will. Why did President Liman even didn't want Ghana to participate in the first place?
In any case whether they were rewarded or not, President John Mahama in 2015/6 or so gave out an amount of money which was used to compensate all players of cup winning squads so why are they so quick to always say they got nothing.

Most of these old players are big time LIARS...!!!!!!!! They were all given the heroic welcome and appropriate compensation at the time! Even Makola women and other public-spirited philanthropists made generous and heartfelt donations to them. They all became instant legends back in the day. When most of them finished spending their goodies and earnings, enjoying with their many concubines, they came to realize how big the newer generation of footballers are making from soccer. So, they started concocting false and shameful stories about how they've been badly treated, when they have actually lived like Kings and Royals during their time. It is normal to find their earnings being smaller during their time to what we have today, but that is something they have to understand and accept. No two generations can be equal. People like Abedi Peli who looked deep into the future and planned their lives are today still enjoying the fruits of their labor. Has anyone heard about Abedi ever crying or lamenting like how some of these lazy and shallow-minded players have been constantly crying...???? Life is indeed, how you make it...!!!!!!!

Wow if we did this to heroes who brought us honor in 1982, then that explains why Karma has come to hit us that bad. No wonder since then we have never won the cup. Restitution demands we have to go back to the 1982 group and to the immediate families of some of the players who have passed on to honor them properly. This should be a national call of honor to the 1982 group. At least they deserve a minimum of a 3 bedroom house each. A country that does not honor its heroes is not worth dying for. No wonder this curse is following the team ever since. The younger teams have done well but not the senior national team . The nation have sowed the seed of dishonor to those who sweated to bring it honor and no wonder since then honor has eluded the senior national team no matter how close they came. Any wise leader will start from that point if He wants to see the senior team start doing well.

There are many other people who in diverse ways sacrifice for this nation but never demand anything extra for their toils. Why do footballers think the nation owes them anything for showing up to play? Their basic employers are their clubs, and the clubs pay them. In some countries, the pride in having represented your nation is enough. What rewards do athletes get for winning medals for Ghana? Do they ask for houses?

They got a 4 STAR HOTEL treatment and probably a 4 STAR MEAL, what else do they want? Do you know how many teachers in the villages these guys come from that go to school on empty stomachs or just 'bread and tea/koko to teach our kids? Why should footballers be settled just for winning a tournament? I am a football fan but football does not construct our roads neither does it treat our sick when they go to the hospital. Anyway, next time ARMED ROBBERS attack you, think of FOOTBALL or FOOTBALLER and you will be saved! CURSE MY CULO!!
