GAA selection criteria for commonwealth games
Consistent with its previous (since 2009) approach to team selection, the Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) is reiterating that selection onto the 2014 Commonwealth Games and African Championships Team will be strictly based on merit.
The eligibility for team selection is dependent on meeting qualification marks as spelt out in its 2014 Team Selection Policies and Qualifying Standards.
The 2014 Team Selection Policies and Qualifying Standards lists specific times and distances athletes have to run, jump or throw to become eligible for team selection. The selection policies and standards were distributed to both local and foreign-based athletes in January 2014.
