Dull session on GSE records no price gain

Accra (Greater Accra) 18 March '99

The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) on Wednesday recorded

a dull session which saw none of the 21 equities making any

price gain.

The All-Share Index lost 0.79 points to close mid-week

trading at 829.60

points from Monday's 830.39. It gained by 3.74 points on

Monday.

The change in the year to date stood at minus 4.46 per cent.

Volume of shares traded finished low at 85,890 compared to

the previous

134,300 but market capitalisation appreciated to 3,278.82 from

3,277.37.

Offers ended higher at 3,532,200, up from Monday's

2,566,500. Bids

increased from 597,200 to 612,010.

In the broader market, there was no gain but only one loss.

Uniliver Ghana Limited (UNIL) lost 20 cedis to finish trading

at 1,800

cedis.
