Basketball Association appeals for help

The Basket Ball Association of Ghana (BBA) is appealing to corporate Ghana, the National Sports Authority and government to come to its aid as they prepare for this year’s Afro Basket Under 18 tourney to be held in Abidjan, Cote‘d Ivoire.

The National under 18 Basketball Team is currently having its residential camping at the University of Ghana, Legon to prepare for the tournament that could qualify the team for the African continental championship in Mozambique.

But sources close to the team told Finder Sports that they have received very little support in their preparation for the tournament.

“We have had to depend on volunteers for our preparations; we think it is time corporate Ghana comes to our aid as basketball can help take a lot of talents going waste off the streets”, the source said.

The Abidjan tourney will take place between June 30 and July 7 with the overall winner representing the zone at the continental championship in Mozambique.
