Raymond Narh to fight on charity show in London

Raymond Narh, National and West African Super featherweight champion, would fight on a Charity bout in London dubbed "Michael Watson's charity show."

The show, which would feature other boxers in Britain is being organised by Mr Frank Warren, a boxing promoter and owner of Sports Net Promotions in London. It would have former World champions like Sugar Ray, Mohamed Ali, and Marvellous Marvin Haggler as special guests.

Narh is scheduled to leave the country at the end of this month for London where he is expected to take on an unnamed opponent on July 8. The bout is to raise funds for Michael Watson, a former Middleweight boxer who went into comma for so many days after Chris Eubank knocked him out in a re-match in 1991.

Narh returned from London on 30 May after he knocked out his opponent Jimmy Gould in round three of their ten round non-title bout on 25 May. Gould, a Lightweight boxer, has eight fights to his credit and had not lost any of his fights. He tasted defeat at the hands of Narh.

Speaking to GNA Sports, Narh, said he has been invited to take part in the show because he impressed the promoter Frank Warren in his first fight in London. He expressed the hope of giving a good account of himself in the next fight. He said he gained favour with the promoter because he fought with Lightweight opponent but managed to knock him out in the third round.

Commenting on the outcome of Ben Neequaye's fight, Narh, said Neequaye was declared unfit to fight in London hence he did not engage in any fight at all. He said Neequaye complained of some sickness before they left for London and "this became serious when we got there." Narh and Neequaye were in London last month for fights under Sports Net Promotions.
