Motherland Entertainment reveal big plans

Motherland Entertainment have added boxing to their music enterprise and will soon stage big fight promotions across Ghana in what they say is their bid to revive and enhance boxing and prospects of boxers winning world championship glory.

Motherland Entertainment which has been operating in the US since 2001 and specialized in making music, started doing work in Ghana in the music industry last year prominently sending hiplife sensation, Sarkodie to perform in the US.

According to Joe Armooh, CEO of Motherland Entertainment, they are adding boxing to their repertoire and in collaboration with US based Triple Mac Boxing Promotions, stage a mega fight show in Accra in December. That will however be preceded by a mini promotion in September to announce themselves to the Ghanaian boxing fraternity before getting down to full business.

“I’m a big fan of boxing and I think there is a massive talent pool in Ghana. All they need is good promotion and management. African boxers are always cheated when fighting overseas so better promotion and better development will take us to where we want in future,” Joe Armooh told www.sportsinghana.com exclusively.

Whilst determined to champion the cause of Ghanaian boxing, Motherland Entertainment have also revealed the readiness to work hand-in-hand with all stakeholders within the fistic sport in this country to achieve their goals.

“We are ready to collaborate with other promoters to organize big boxing events throughout Ghana and not just in Accra. We’ll do our best with the support of the GBA (Ghana Boxing Authority) and other stakeholders, altogether we’ll do a better job,” Mr. Armooh affirmed.
