The issue is that our farmers are not supplied with the good quality species and seeds, what they grow here is the "Pinpiness" type which isn't fleshy, full of seeds, very watery with less keeping quality. Our farmers also depend on natural rain only without irrigation.

What happened to us? I remember growing up in Navrongo in the mid 1960s, Makola women rented big trucks to Navrongo to buy loads of tomatoes to the markets in in the south. The MCE's and the DCE's with the initiative of the government should embark on tomatoes production by engaging the youth in those area by giving them allowances and 3 meals a day to work these farms, instead of running to the big cities to be kayayos. Not only there, but every district should engage in what produce is good or common in their environment.
