NDC UK & Ireland Chapter interacts with Members

NDC UK & Ireland Chapter - Kofi Adams interacts with NDC UK & Ireland Members and London Media

The Deputy General Secretary of the NDC Kofi Adams met a cross session of the general membership of the NDC UK & Ireland Chapter and the media during a recent visit to London.

Mr Adams briefed Chapter members on the recent developments and challenges facing the National Party. He said the Party was aware of the difficulties facing Chapters in the Diaspora and that the Party was doing everything within its means to address those challenges.

The Deputy General Secretary underscored the important role the Chapters in the Diaspora played during the 2008 elections. He told the gathering that he was particularly encouraged by the contributions from party members in the Diaspora. The National Party, he said recognises the significant contributions from the UK & Ireland Chapter and thanked members for the continued support.

Mr Kofi Adams advised members not to relent in their efforts to build a strong, dynamic and united party. Party unity he said was the key to success. He advised members to eschew their differences and not to allow petty political differences to cloud their judgement. He also advised members to avoid factionalism.

The Deputy General Secretary reminded the gathering that the NDC was the coming together of groups and individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences who share a common determination to build a stable, just and democratic society. He therefore advised members to direct those experiences at providing constructive criticisms for building the Party but not for destroying it. Mr Adams said it was important membership understood the vision and philosophy of the NDC and to respect Party structures to avoid conflicts and misunderstandings.

Mr Kofi Adams had earlier on given live radio interviews at Rainbow Radio and Focus Radio based in South-West London. He was also interviewed on GFM Radio.

The Chairman of the UK & Ireland Chapter, Horace Ankrah thanked the Deputy General Secretary for making time to meet Chapter members at the short notice. He took the opportunity to call on members to unite behind the Chapter. He said unity and trust was important if the party was to make headway.
