EP Church University to take-off in October

Akoefe (VR), May 17, GNA - The Rt. Rev. Dr Livingston Buama, Moderator of the Evangelical Presbyterian (EP) Church, said the Church had formed an implementation committee to oversee the smooth take-off of the church's University in Ho in October.

Rt. Rev. Dr Buama said this when he addressed delegates of the Ho East Presbytery of the Church at Akoefe in the Ho Municipality at the weekend.

Pastors, catechists, district treasurers and leaders of the various groups in the presbytery attended the three-day conference that was under the theme "Focus and Commitment".

Rt Rev Dr Buama said Ghana Telecom (GT) had agreed to assist the Church to renovate the building the company is occupying that the church has earmarked as a campus of the university.

GT had put up permanent offices and would be moving out of the building soon. The company has agreed to build a fence wall around the building and release phone lines and other facilities in the building to the church for use by the school.

Rt. Rev. Buama appealed to members and friends of the church to assist it for the smooth take-off of the university. He appealed to religious leaders to stop "harassing and embarrassing" their members by their frequent demands of donations of monies from them.
