Reopen investigations into 'Airbus Scandal' not just the Cecilia Dapaah scandal - Mahama told

Former president, John Dramani Mahama Former president, John Dramani Mahama

The National Youth Organizer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salam Mustapha, has swiftly reacted to John Mahama's promise to reopen investigations into allegations of corruption and money laundering against Cecilia Dapaah, the former Minister of Sanitation.

Salam Mustapha believes it would be wise for Former president John Mahama, should he become President again, to not only reopen the case involving Cecilia Dapaah but also the case concerning the purchase of Airbus aircraft (the Airbus Scandal) in which he is allegedly deeply involved.

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had pledged in a social media post to investigate the Cecilia Dapaah case if the NDC wins the 2024 General elections.

This promise followed the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Godfred Dame informing the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) that there was no basis to investigate Ms. Cecilia Dapaah and her husband over corruption and money laundering allegations, as the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) found no adverse findings against them.

In response, Salam Mustapha reminded the former President of the 'Airbus Scandal' and urged him to consider reopening it, along with the Cecilia Dapaah case, in the unlikely event that he becomes President again.

See his post below:

"Dear John Mahama,

"In the event of your most unlikely return to office, kindly reopen an investigation into the scandalous and nefarious Airbus GO1 scandal, which you are directly accused of alongside Madam Cecilia Dapaah. In that case, we will hold your feet to the fire, sir. No room for cheap politics!" Salam Mustapha wrote.
