NPP activists cry foul

Koforidua Oct.24 GNA - A group of New Patriotic Party (NPP) activists at Nyamebekyere and Tinkong, near Koforidua, have appealed to the Eastern Regional Secretariat of the party to investigate the recent selection of polling station chairmen for the area towards the holding of an open and fair election for the positions.

They threatened that if the matter was not addressed amicably they would be compelled to resign en-block from the party.

Mr Moses Abankwa, the leader of the group, told the GNA at Koforidua that they filed their nominations to contest the election as polling station chairmen but they later learnt to their surprise that some people had been selected without an election. He expressed worry at the turn of events and expressed the hope that the regional office would resolve the matter peacefully.
