Being a leader of a country can be described as one of the most daunting positions one can ever occupy in his or her life due to the constant pressure and insults that comes with it.
The insults and pressure sometimes creeps into the heart, mind and skin especially when popular figures join the crusade – sometimes making the government unpopular.
Ghanaweb.com is reflecting on how some Ghanaian celebrities slammed president Akufo-Addo over poor governance in the wake of claims by investigative journalist Manasseh Awuni Azure that “Trusting this government is worse than investing in Menzgold” - a company that has been struggling to pay locked up funds of customers.
1. Nana Aba Anamoah
In November, 2019, media personality Nana Aba Anamoah heavily descended on president Akufo-Addo for making too many needless comments about Mahama and losing focus.
Reacting to Akufo-Addo’s assertions about his predecessor’s exploits while on tour in the Volta region, Nana Aba condemned his actions describing them as unnecessary.
“…the President should be telling us exactly how many jobs he has created in the Volta region alone. He should be telling us the numbers he’s added on in the Volta region alone. He shouldn’t be reminding us of what John Mahama did or didn’t do, said or hasn’t said, we are not interested in that. There are problems in the Volta region. He should be telling us of what he has done to address those problems. We don’t want him to be telling us about John Mahama. We already know what John Mahama did and didn’t do, we don’t need him to remind us...” she exclaimed.
Remember vision 2020? And all the stuff our leaders told us? Well 2020 is in 6months. The country is even worse now! Sometimes I wonder.....how do we have all the resources and still remain in such poverty!
