Dear GhanaWeb: How do I go back to my husband?

Dear GhanaWeb,

I was married to my husband for five years until some friends influenced me to leave him.

When I lost my job two years after my marriage, it was this same man who linked me up to one of the most renowned companies in the country.

The pay was good, so I hardly even allowed him to cater for our feeding since I could afford them. My marriage was a peaceful one until I fell under the influence of some of my female colleagues.

These women were the closest people to me at work. When I told them I was married and how good marriage is, they found it hard to believe me and rather preached to me about the bitter side of marriage.

They even provided evidence to back their arguments, which got me scared. They said they don’t want their lives to be destroyed by marriage, which is why they were still single.

Their words really got into my head, and since then, I started maltreating my husband and causing unnecessary fights at home, which eventually led to a divorce.

On April 12, 2024, the company’s HR shared a wedding invitation on the page. I opened the message, and to my surprise, one of the women who talked me into ending my marriage was getting married.

I went mute and spoke to no one until I left the office that day. I didn’t even share any congratulatory messages with her. I received a call from her in the evening, and she told me I was part of her bridesmaid team. I rejected the offer and hung up on her.

That evening, I didn’t understand what was going on and realized the mistake I had made. How is it that someone who does not believe in marriage is getting married?

Now I want to go back to my husband, but I do not know where to start.
