Musicians could boycott VGMA following Shatta-Stonebwoy ban - Sarkodie warns

Sarkodie Sarkodie

Ghana’s ‘Highest’ musician, Sarkodie is not happy at all with the decision of Charterhouse to ban Shatta Wale and Stonbwoy.

In a series of tweets, Sarkodie has registered his displeasure with Charterhouse’ decision.

According to him, Charterhouse’ decision to ban the two heavyweight musicians was not thought through rightly.

He added that the musicians can also decide to boycott VGMA, and this would force Charterhouse out of business.

Therefore, if there is a matter, both parties, musicians and Charterhouse must make the right decision for a good way forward than the harsh one they have meted out to the two.

He also raised some issues with the practices of Charterhouse, saying it is completely wrong for tickets to be sold for the awards.

He indicated that Charterhouse was only interested in making money, while ignoring the welfare of artistes.

Sarkodie explained that keeping artiste and their supporters in the same room could breed bad emotions, leading to unfortunate incidents like what happened at the 2019 VGMA.

Meanwhile, entertainment pundit, Bulldog, has said that Charterhouse must be blamed if Stonebwoy goes to jail over his action.

Bulldog explained in details why this must be so, while laying the VGMA incident blame squarely on Charterhouse.

Also, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale are being tried in court and have been granted GHC50,000 bail each.
