Comment: Drivers' indiscipline causing loss of lives and properties

With the increasing reports of road accidents and the staggering number of lives that are lost on a daily basis, you will think that road users, drivers especially, will be more careful not to disobey the road laws.

Drivers, in most of these reports, are found culpable breaking road laws, which leads to some of these avoidable accidents.

An image obtained by GhanaWeb suggests that a heavy-duty vehicle, yesterday, in an attempt to outsmart colleagues by switching lanes just around the Tema toll booth area, was involved in an accident, causing damage to state property.

Though there were no human casualties, the infrastructure constructed with the taxpayer’s money was destroyed.

On the Tema motorway, some drivers take advantage of the relatively comfortable road and obscure police presence to drive carelessly, endangering the lives of other road users.

We must play our roles in limiting road accidents, but that is when everyone will do what is right as citizens for our country and ourselves.
