Brew-Aidoo wins Taysec Golf

Accra, Oct. 20, GNA - Carl Brew-Aidoo scored a plus of three to win this year's Taysec Construction Limited Open Golf Championship played at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra.

Mohammed Hassan took the second position with a plus of two followed by Simran Oberoi at the third position with no point whilst Reverend Amenzado came fourth with a minus of two. In the Ladies encounter, Esther Amoah came first with a plus of three after she beat Mona Myles-Lamptey on count back with Clara Prince coming third with a minus of one while Ama Siegrist came fourth with a minus of three.

In the professionals segment, Kojo Barni came first with a gross of 287, Godwin Sai placed second with 288 gross, while Anthony Gbenyor and Vincent Torgah shared the third position with 291 gross.

The one-day Bogey competition attracted more than 100 golfers. Mr Geoff Fisher, Chairman and Managing Director of Taysec company pledged his outfit's commitment to the development golf in the country. Mr Mike Aggrey, Captain of Achimota Golf Club thanked the company for sponsoring the competition and called for more support from other corporate bodies to help develop the sport.
