NOKIA Corporate Golf for Peace at Achimota on Saturday

The responsibility of every Ghanaian to observe and ensure peace in next weekend’s general elections takes centre stage on the golf courses of the nation's premier golf club when the NOKIA Corporate Golf for Peace tees off this Saturday, 1st December 2012 at the Achimota Golf Club and Golf Academy, in Accra.

According to event organizers, The Golfer and Supreme Sports Magazine, “the overall objective is to promote peace in Ghana regarding the upcoming 2012 Elections through the game of golf. The friendly, respectful, truthful, competitive, and disciplined atmosphere always associated with golf informs this.

 The event will also be used to offer first-timers/beginners and prospective golfers the rare opportunity to start playing golf through a Golf Clinic that would be held as part of the event. A total number of 200 people made up of 80 Amateur golfers, 20 Junior golfers and 100 beginners & prospective golfers from the corporate world.

To display full national unity, participants are expected to include prominent business owners and leaders, politicians, lawyers, architects, insurers, bankers, miners, music and movie celebrities, advertisers and media practitioners, chiefs, Rev. Ministers and pastors, members of the Diplomatic Corps, and many others.

The main event of 18 holes for Amateur golfers tees off at 7:00am whilst the a Golf Clinic and driving/practice range competition for first timers begin at 8:00am and a Three (3) Holes competition for beginners/first timers@12:00 noon with Juniors playing alongside the above activities for fun.
