Reach out to those in the slums with the gospel - Bishop Andam

The Methodist Bishop of Kumasi, the Right Reverend Christopher Nyarko Andam, has advised Christians to do more to reach out to everybody with the gospel - to bring hope and salvation to them.

He said they needed to intensify their evangelization work – go to people in the slums to share with them the word of God.

The Rt. Rev Andam was delivering the sermon at a service held to dedicate the Calvary Society of the church at Patasi-Atimatim in the Afigya-Kwabre District.

He spoke of the need to help to reconcile all with God and to be at peace with themselves and their neighbours.

He used the occasion to encourage Christians to remain steadfast and unswerving in their faith.

They should be prayerful and mirror Christ-like qualities of integrity, love, modesty, compassion and humility.

Bishop Andam said it was by so doing that they would become a positive influence on the society.

He counseled them against doing anything inconsistent with the true teachings of the Bible, adding that, they must live their faith.

The Calvary Society, planted in the mid-1960’s, now has a permanent place of worship with the dedication of the new Chapel.

The project was started in year 2014 and it was funded through voluntary contributions by the congregation.

The ceremony was used to recognize some members of the church for their singular contribution to its growth.
