Nana Kwame Frimpong Ziega, a broadcaster with Kumasi-based Kessben FM, has criticized the National Peace Council and elderly members of the New Patriotic Party over their failure to call the Minister of Food and Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong to order over some comments he has been making about the 2024 elections.

Speaking on the morning show of Kessben FM, Kwame Ziega expressed shock that Bryan Acheampong has been allowed to not only make that statement but repeat it on campaign platforms.

Kwame Ziega noted that the comments by the Member of Parliament for Abetifi are inflammatory and have the potential to jeopardize the peace and security of the country.

He threatened to institute legal action against him if Bryan Acheampong ever repeats the statement, noting that he will not sit down unconcerned while the country is plunged into chaos.

“The next time Bryan Acheampong makes that statement again, I will take him to court. I’m surprised no one in the NPP is calling him to order because what he is doing is a recipe for disaster. I don’t want to be a refugee, so the next time he makes that statement, I will sue him. I’m a Ghanaian and I have the constitution behind me.

“He might mean no harm, but how he says it and keeps repeating it is concerning. The Peace Council is watching on unconcerned and not calling him to order. What’s the sense of creating the Peace Council? Aren’t they hearing what he is saying and that it is a threat to the peace of the country?

“He should be careful because Ghana belongs to no one. The next time he makes that statement, I will take him to court because I’m a Ghanaian and not ready to be a refugee. What he is doing could jeopardize the peace of the country, and we have to speak against it,” he said.

Bryan Acheampong is quoted as saying during a rally at Nsawam in the Eastern Region that the New Patriotic Party will activate all necessary measures to win the December polls.

"Before I end my speech, I want to reiterate that whether the NDC likes it or not, they will never win the 2024 elections. They won't win. Go and check their records, they won't win. The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is here to win elections.

"So whichever means we will use to win the 2024 elections, we will use it. We are a political party. We have pastors, Imams, and traditionalists in the party. Ours is to win the elections. So whichever means we will use to win the elections, we will use it," he reaffirmed his position.
