Former President John Dramani Mahama is asking what government is investigating in the aftermath of the violence unleashed on NDC members during the Ayawaso By-Election in Accra, MyNewsGh.com reports.

The former president who is tipped by many political pundits to win the NDC Primaries next week said government clearly knows where all the “boys” who took part in the violence came from, and that he wonders the rationale behind an “investigation”.

Mr Mahama served a warming to National Security Minister of State, Bryan Acheampong to get ready to face NDC in court over the matter.

“All those who were injured by the guns, we are going to get them lawyers, and they are going to sue whoever did this. We are going to sue them for adequate compensation. Bryan Acheampong says he ordered it. We are going to sue him as an individual. Bryan Acheampong should get ready. He said he did it, He is a candidate for court.!” Mahama said.

Mr Mahama was speaking at North Tongu during his tour of the Volta Region last week covered by MyNewsGh.com’s Volta Regional Correspondent.

Mr Mahama added that the government knows where the “rampaging thugs” came from.

“You know where those people come from. The pictures are there. Our people have identified almost all of them. They are Invisible and Delta forces put in police uniform using SWAT vehicles.” He said.

Mr Mahama also disclosed that The vehicles used by thugs given the Identity of National Security were vehicles bought under NDC when Colonel Gbevlo Lartey was National Security Coordinator. He warned that the then NDC government didn’t buy the vehicles for purposes of disturbances.

“Those vehicles we bought them. Colonel Gbevlo Lartey bought them. We didn’t use those vehicles to disturb the peace of Ghana.”

Mr Mahama urged NDC members to remain calm and assuring them of his commitment to protecting them.

“I ask all NDC people to remain calm. Let’s not disturb the peace. The ball is the court of government. We are watching what Investigation will take place. But we are not going to sit down. All those who were injured by the guns, we are going to get them lawyers, and they are going to sue whoever did this. We are going to sue them for adequate compensation. Bryan Acheampong says he ordered it. We are going to sue him as an individual. Bryan Acheampong should get ready. He said he did it, He is a candidate for court.” Mahama told the crowd.
