The Second Lady, Hajia Samira Bawumia, has urged university students and Ghanaian youth to choose her husband, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, over the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress, former President John Dramani Mahama.

Addressing students of the University of Ghana on Friday, November 29, 2024, Mrs. Bawumia questioned the policies of the NDC candidate in inspiring confidence in the youth.

“As I sat here and saw a lot of you students, I was thinking, look at the processes you go through in school. Look at the struggle; look at the late nights, the burning of midnight oil. Yesterday, I came across something, and I was hoping to God it wasn’t true, but I heard it is true, that the former president says that ‘we are coming to give unemployed youth Wellington Boots and Aboboyaa with Polytanks mounted on them so you can water trees by the roadside.’

“Is that why you are going to school? Is that your aspiration? Is that what you want for your future? How can somebody offering you that inspire confidence in you? So let us do right by ourselves; let us choose somebody who will show you that ‘It Is Possible,’” the Second Lady said.

In contrast to the policies of the NDC, Mrs. Bawumia said her husband, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, presents a mindset and policies of possibilities which will inspire the Ghanaian youth to attain unlimited possibilities.

She stressed that Dr. Bawumia’s policies in youth development, such as employment, are anchored in the tremendous achievements of the current Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo-led administration in that area.

She called on the youth to vote massively for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia come December 7, 2024, to give the Vice President the opportunity to implement his “Bold Solutions” for Ghana to their benefit.
