Flag bearer of the All People’s Congress (APC), Hassan Ayariga, has said he is not begging to be president and will never say ‘I beg you try me’ in his campaign towards the 2016 general elections in December.

His remark is a direct response to the New Patriotic Party’s Nana Akufo-Addo who on his campaign tours have asked Ghanaians to kick out the Mahama-led administration and try him too as president.

“This year, try me too. Give me the chance to show you what I can do. Four years is not so far away. If I come and I don’t succeed, kick me out. God knows my heart and I can assure you that I won’t disappoint you. Progress and prosperity are what I am offering the people of Ghana,” Nana Akufo-Addo said to a gathering of Muslim clerics and Chiefs of settler communities in Derma in the Tano South constituency in the Brong Ahafo region on Sunday February 21.

In reference to Mr Akufo-Addo’s implorations to be elected as president, Mr Ayariga told Prince Minkah on the Executive Breakfast Show (EBS) on Class 91.3FM on Wednesday September 28 that: “I am a politician; I have achieved a lot for myself. I’m not a beggar and I’m not begging to be president, not at all. I will never go anywhere and say: ‘I beg you try me’. If you want, try me; if you want, reject me. I am who I am. I only want to help transform people’s lives. I have had the opportunity to transform my life and I think Ghanaians deserve that. The youth out there are making noise, what is their future”?
